(1) Baylor, (2) Drake, (3) Auburn, (4) Boise State
No. 7 Baylor kicks off the spring with possibly the best top three singles players in the country. Patrick Pradella (No. 7), Julian Lenz (No. 2) and Diego Galeano (No. 18) sit atop the Bears lineup, with all three having qualified for the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships. Baylor’s Tony Lupieri (No. 92) is also ranked in the Top 100.
The Bears will take on Boise State (No. 47) in the first round. The Broncos are led by No. 54 Andy Bettles, who went 11-3 in the fall. In the other semifinal, No. 32 Drake will take on No. 28 Auburn. The Bulldogs scored their first ever win at the NCAA Team Championships last year, and are now led by the No. 8 doubles pair of returner Robin Goodman and South Florida transfer Ravi Patel, who knocked off a Top 10 Ohio State team at the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships.
The Tigers have two ranked singles players and a ranked doubles team, including freshman Dante Saleh (No. 89), who registered seven wins in his first semester with the team. The newcomer knocked off USTA/ITA Southern Regional Singles Champion Malte Stropp in straight sets at the SEC Fall Classic.
