(1) Kentucky, (2) Notre Dame, (3) Minnesota, (4) BYU
No. 8 Kentucky returns five of six starting singles players to a team that reached the Round of 16 at the 2013 NCAA Team Championships. The Wildcats have three Top 100 singles players, along with returning the pairing of Tom Jomby and Kevin Lai that finished No. 10 in last year’s ITA Doubles Rankings.
Notre Dame (No. 29) has two ranked singles players, including Greg Andrews who won a round at both national events during the fall and finished runner-up to Ohio State’s Peter Kobelt at the USTA/ITA Midwest Regional Championship. Minnesota’s (No. 39) strong suit lies in its No. 47 first doubles team of Jack Hamburg and Mathieu Froment.
No. 45 BYU lost three of its top four players during the offseason, but will look to test the Wildcats in the first round. The Cougars triumphed against four Top 40 teams last season.
