Beatrice Capra is back at Duke and is ranked No. 3 behind a big fall which saw her win the USTA/ITA Carolina Regional Championships and the was the singles consolation winner at the 2013 USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships. The Blue Devils start the year ranked No. 10 and will hope to return to the National Indoors to better their 2013 semifinal finish. Capra’s teammate Ester Goldfeld (No. 45) and Hanna Mar (No. 49) are also returners, while freshman Chalena Scholl will look to start her collegiate career on a high note. In doubles, Goldfeld and partner Annie Mulholland are the highest ranked doubles pairing at No. 14.

No. 42 Kentucky hopes its incoming freshman Aldila Sutjiadi as well as No. 108 Nadia Ravita, who earned an at-large bid to the 2013 USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships will help their team compete well at Duke. No. 53 Tulane returns its top four singles players who helped their team to a 17-7 record in 2012-2013. Columbia (No. 57) had a strong fall season, and it swept the USTA/ITA Northeast Regional Championships, with Kanika Vaidya winning singles and Tina Jiang and Crystal Leung the doubles title.
