(1) North Carolina, (2) Lousiana State, (3) Boston College, (4) Minnesota
Perennial power North Carolina hovered around the Top 10 last year before a strong finish catapulted the Tar Heels to a No. 3 ranking. Carolina narrowly missed winning an outright National Championship, falling to No. 1 UCLA 4-3 in the NCAA finals. All six singles starters return this year, including last year's ITA Player of the Year, Jamie Loeb, who finished last season ranked No. 1 in the country with a 51-4 record.
The LSU Tigers have four players ranked in the Top 125 singles rankings, led by No. 28 Joana Vale Costa. Five singles starters return and the lineup is buttressed by the addition of Skylar Kuykendal, a sophomore transfer from Memphis, who is ranked No. 65 this spring and will play third singles.
Boston College trots out two ranked players at first and second singles. Jessica Wacnik, ranked No. 61, returns to her post at first singles, and Lexi Borr, ranked No. 103, moves into second singles after playing third singles last year. Freshman Asiya Dair was ranked No. 10 in the Preseason Newcomers/Freshmen Rankings and will play third singles for the Eagles.
Minnesota returns four starters from last year's 17-9 campaign. Senior Tereza Brichakova is back at first singles, and freshman Caroline Ryba will play second singles.
