The Duke Blue Devils enter the season ranked No. 4 in the country and are reigning champions of the Division I National Team Indoor Championship, the ultimate prize of Kick-Off Weekend; teams must win their pool to advance into the February event.

Duke is led by veterans at first and second singles. Junior Beatrice Capra was ranked No. 4 in the preseason singles rankings, and senior Ester Goldfeld is ranked No. 87 to start the spring. Goldfeld plays second singles, and freshman Samantha Harris, ranked No. 55 in the country after posting a 7-1 fall record, will play third singles.

Memphis finished last season ranked No. 41 in the country but enters the spring ranked No. 54. The Tigers are tasked with replacing their top three singles players this year. No. 60 Furman returns four of six singles players, including its top two: sophomore Ansley Speak at first singles and senior Alex Moreno-Caste at second. The Louisville Cardinals are ranked No. 67 but must move on from their top two singles players from last year. Sophomore Elle Stokes and Freshman Ola Mally have moved into the first and second singles positions.
