The No. 10 Georgia Bulldogs lost four of six singles starters from last season's lineup, but they did keep two two-time All-Americans: senior Lauren Herring and junior Silvia Garcia. To duplicate last year's success Georgia will have to rely on three key freshman to flank the All-Americans Herring and Garcia. Freshmen Ellen Perez and Hanna King are expected to start at second and fifth singles, respectively. Garcia will play third singles.
Auburn enters the spring ranked No. 28 and returns its top three singles players from last year. Two of those players, Pleun Burgmans and Emily Flickinger, form the No. 3 doubles pair in the country. The duo reached the finals of the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships in November.
Wake Forest looks to continue its ascent up the rankings this spring. After back-to-back three win seasons in 2011-2012 and 2012-2013, the Demon Deacons finished with a 12-13 record last year and the No. 61 ranking nationally. Junior Xue Zhang and sophomore Kimmy Guerin pace the singles lineup.
Samford posted a school record for wins in 2013-14, going 20-3, and their year-end ranking of No. 65 was also the highest in program history. They start the season ranked No. 71. The Bulldogs return four of six singles starters, including last year's number one player, senior Stephanie N'tcha.
